If your breakfast is sugary, fattening or worse – non-existent – then it’s time for a breakfast makeover. Getting a flat belly is as much about what you avoid as it is about what you eat. To reduce bloating, the main foods to avoid are sugar, wheat and caffeine, as these are the ones most likely to cause bloating and weight gain. So say goodbye to sugar-laden cereals and start your day with delicious, metabolism-boosting foods, like:
Eggs
The branched-chain amino acids in egg whites kick-start your metabolism, while the healthy fat in the yolk keeps you feeling fuller for longer.
Lean protein
Your body uses more energy to burn protein, so try to include lean protein like chicken and cottage cheese.
Milk and yoghurt
According to studies, calcium encourages your body to burn fat.
Kale
Put this superfood in your omelette for a high-fibre boost.
Healthy fats
Instead of saturated fats like bacon and cheese, choose monounsaturated fats like olive oil, nuts and seeds (and the butters made from them), and avocado.
Grapefruit
This will help your body burn fat, increase metabolism and reduce appetite.
Raspberries
One cup of raspberries has a whopping 8 grams of fibre, which helps to encourage weight loss.
Oats
If porridge is the only thing you can stomach in the morning, choose fibre-rich raw oats (not flavoured), and sprinkle it with cinnamon (a potent antioxidant) to help prevent bloating.
Green tea
Swop your latte for green tea and enjoy a boost to your metabolism for up to two hours.
Gooaday can i please have the mealplans and exerxise plans you once had
Hi. I would like to find out. The eatplans aren’t very specific. When cooking rice. You are not allowed to use salt? Are you allowed to eat salted nuts… What is classified as a salad? As they say small salad. How big is that, and can you mix and match the meals? Like for instance have a breakfast that is scheduled for wednesday. But have a lunch thats for tuesday. Does it make a difference..?
Good Morning Stephanie
Those are really good questions and i will try to address them as best i can. When reading a meal plan some things are up to you and your preference. For instance if you would like to add salt then do so, try a healthy salt such a pink himalayan salt. If you prefer nuts with salt then eat nuts with salt, although not roasted and unsalted nuts are healthier. Spices and Salts rarely add a significant amount of calories.
These things will not affect the most important aspect of the meal plan, which is restricting calories and providing a good macro split. A salad consists of a mixture of small pieces of vegetables or fruit. Whichever ones you enjoy most you can eat, small would differ from person to person. What is small for one might be big for someone else. Use your own judgement here when choosing a salad size, consider the portion while keeping your weight loss goals in mind.
To address the last question its preferable to not swap them around. Once again this will affect your daily caloric intake, essentially you are trying to keep this for e.g at 1800 . If you swap 2 meals that cause you to consume more calories on the one day and less on the other you will end up over eating the one day and feeling hungry the other.
A meal plan might seem strict and daunting but there is no need to threat over all the small details. As long as you follow the recommended meals you will stay below the recommended caloric intake for the day. This over a period of time will assist your weight loss significantly.
Best of Luck
