EAT UP… START WITH BREAKFAST.
We love this article and cannot agree more (thanks All4woman for the great article).
Skipping breakfast can deprive you of nutrients and energy, reducing your concentration, which may explain why people, who skip meals, breakfast especially, still have a hard time losing weight.
- Do not skip breakfast!
After a long period without eating your blood sugar levels will be low. Skipping breakfast means your body will start to crave something sweet and you’ll end up snacking on unhealthy foods.
- Why do you need to eat breakfast?
Breakfast helps us wake up and be on the move especially in this hectic world of ours. Studies have shown that people who eat breakfast are more alert and do better on tests than people who skip breakfast.
When you start your day on nothing, you’re running on empty. But if you eat up, you have what you need to make it through your workday, go home to cook, sort the laundry, homework and still have time for a bedtime story too!
- Eat more, weigh less
Do you know that eating more can assist in weight loss? Did you notice that the hunger pangs increase when we skip meals; we become so hungry by lunchtime we tend to overeat?
Spacing your meals throughout the day at regular intervals is better than going through a starve-binge routine each day. Don’t deprive yourself of breakfast – or other meals for that matter – or you may just find yourself losing control later in the day.
- Improved memory and concentration
Not only does eating a healthy breakfast rev up your metabolism, it also stimulates your brain. Eating breakfast also helps improve memory and positively affects the tasks that require the retention of new information.
- Increased energy throughout the day
What our bodies crave in the morning is a meal that includes each of the three macronutrients: protein, good fats and complex carbohydrates. Overcome the reasons not to have breakfast and make it part of your day. If you’re too busy in the morning, prepare as much as you can the night before.
- Get into the habit
You don’t have to stick strictly to having the same breakfast every day, but rather ensure that you choose a healthier breakfast menu. Get into the habit of trying different dishes at breakfast and enjoy it!
- Set a good example for your children
By skipping breakfast, your kids will think it’s not important. So eat up, because your kids are watching you!
